Interviewing Using Skype
What is Skype?
Skype is a software application that allows users to make voice or video calls over the internet. Skype software is free to download and video and voice calls are free to other Skype users. Software can be downloaded at www.skype.com.
Using PantherSkype to interview UWM students eliminates travel costs, saving time and money. Additionally, it adds an element of convenience by allowing employers to interview right from their own offices.
Skype software can be downloaded to your computer from the Skype website free of change. A webcam and microphone are necessary to operate Skype. Such equipment can be purchased for an estimated cost of $30-$80.* Some computers now come equipped with internal microphones and/or webcams. Please be sure to check your computer before purchasing any equipment.* If you would like to conduct a group interview with 3 or more people, please setup the Skype Premium package for $8.99/month. Otherwise all one on one video calls are free.
