Eligibility for workstudy is determined by your level of financial need and the funding available. When applying for financial aid you can express your interest in being considered for workstudy funds. Workstudy allows you to earn money to help pay education expenses and is not counted as income on your financial aid eligibility in future years.
Both. If you work on-campus, you'll work for UWM. If you work off-campus, your employer will usually be a private nonprofit organization or a public agency, and the work performed must be in the public interest.
No. You must apply and interview as you would for any job. Many positions are filled for the academic year by the end of September so don't delay your job search.

Yes. Some departments only hire students with workstudy, however, many on-campus jobs do not require you to have workstudy. Hiring students with workstudy is appealing to departments because they only have to pay about 25 cents for every dollar a student earns and the federal government pays the rest. |
