Amazing Ministries
Pastor Ray Hill asked CDS to develop a design concept for his vision of creating a faith-based community center. The program was an ambitious one whose central features included a space for sports, recreation and worship “sanctinasium”. A volumetric form was created to represent the programmatic elements described by Pastor Ray and arranged into three diagrammatic schemes on typical city parcels. The focus of the structure was on the central sanctinasium, with service and classroom space surrounding the community core. Its welcoming exterior and broad reception space strengthen the center’s community-feel. The building’s program included a coffee shop, sports facilities, sanctuary, offices and classrooms. Activities would occur within and outside the building. The art on the skin of the building would be designed by the community.
