Program Educational Objectives
The mission statement and the educational objectives were written in cooperation with representatives of alumni, students and industry. Soon after the formulation of the department's IAB in 1997, the mission and the objectives of the program were formulated. At that time a clear definition of objectives as they are understood today did not exist. Therefore, during ABET retreat of the College of Engineering and Applied Science on August 28, 2001, the objectives were rewritten by the department faculty. The IAB approved the program objectives on September 27, 2001. Since then, the objectives were revised in 2003, 2005 and 2006.
The following are industrial engineering program objectives:
Objective 1. Graduates have successful careers as professionals in industrial engineering or a related field.
Objective 2. Graduates contribute to improving efficiency, productivity and/or quality of products manufactured or services provided by their organization.
Objective 3. Graduates demonstrate professionalism and continue their professional development.
