Peter Armstrong is a GIS Specialist at the Center. He has an M.S. in Geography from UW-Milwaukee along with a graduate certificate in Urban GIS, and a B.A. in Environmental Sciences from Northwestern University. Mr. Armstrong has seven years of experience working as a GIS analyst for National Neighborhood Indicators Partnership (NNIP) organizations in Milwaukee (2001-2003) and Baltimore (2003-2007). In Baltimore, Mr. Armstrong held the primary role in updating data and indicators for the Vital Signs project, a collection of outcome indicators used to examine the socioeconomic vitality of Baltimore City and the neighborhoods within. Mr. Armstrong has extensive experience with developing databases into spatial information systems. He also has experience in data acquisition, spatial statistics, internet GIS, and the application of GIS as a tool to help community groups. Mr. Armstrong works with Center faculty, staff, students, and community organizations to expand the Center's GIS and data analysis capabilities.
