Teaching Interests:
My teaching areas include Irish literature, Irish mythology and folklore, as well as 20th century English literature.

Research Interests:
My research focuses on Irish fiction and drama, and I have published numerous articles on the subject. My books include: Missed Understandings: A Study of Stage Adaptations of the Works of James Joyce (Amsterdam: Rodopi, 1988); Troubled Histories, Troubled Fictions: Twentieth-Century Anglo-Irish Prose, Ed. (with Theo D'haen) (Amsterdam: Rodopi, 1995); Unauthorized Versions: Irish Menippean Satire, 1919-1952 (Washington, DC: Catholic University of America Press, 2000). I am an active member of the American Conference for Irish Studies (ACIS), and the International Association for the Study of Irish Literatures (IASIL): I am currently serving as vice-present for ACIS.
