The Internship Program is a "capstone" event in the academic career of the undergraduate student. The practical purpose of the Internship promotes the development of clinical skills from proficiency towards a level of mastery equated with an entry level professional. This progression is accomplished through the integration and application of the fundamental knowledge in a field experience component. The Student Intern completes the Field Experience component in a supervised setting of his/her choosing, closely resembling their career goals and interests with a physically active population. Through the field experience, the Internship Program will identify the student's professional strengths and weaknesses and provide direction/education towards preparing the student athletic trainer for seeking future employment.
