Interests & Expertise
Professor Brown’s major focus is undergraduate education related to the Biomedical Sciences.
Expertise includes the organization, administration, periodic review, continued development, and general effectiveness of the undergraduate Biomedical Sciences programs as required by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) standards and the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
Interests include the supervision of the clinical laboratory learning experience, development of clinical curriculum, evaluation of program effectiveness, formulating clinical policy & procedures, maintaining working knowledge of current accreditation & certification procedures, and evaluating undergraduate program effectiveness.
A recent project included working with Qatar University in the Middle East to achieve accreditation for the Biomedical Sciences Program from the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS). This was the first Biomedical Sciences Program to be accredited by NAACLS outside the United States.
