LSPPE In the News
The Olympic Winter Institute of Australia relies on the expertise of Professor Barbara B. Meyer, Ph.D., Director of the LSPPE, to help develop the talent of Olympic hopefuls in a variety of winter sports.
Grounded firmly by ethical standards, current research, and professional experience, the Laboratory for Sport Psychology & Performance Excellence (LSPPE) serves as a resource for individuals and teams seeking to achieve and maintain performance excellence. In addition to providing quality, evidence-based consulting services across a variety of performance arenas (e.g., sport, firefighting, the performing arts, business, etc.), the LSPPE provides a unique opportunity for graduate students to simultaneously gain experience in the academic, research, and applied facets of sport psychology. Furthermore, guided by a multi-dimensional, athlete-centered performance model, the Meyer Athlete Performance Management Model (MAPM; Meyer, Merkur, Ebersole, & Massey, in press), the LSPPE is committed to integrating psychological skills training with other aspects of training (e.g., physical, technical) in a collaborative effort to help clients and organizations achieve and maintain performance excellence. The members of the LSPPE are also dedicated to fostering an environment of ongoing education, training, and professional development among sport psychology students and clients alike.
