Graduate Student Experience

In addition to providing quality consulting services, the Laboratory for Sport Psychology & Performance Excellence is also dedicated to providing unique opportunities for graduate students interested in sport psychology to develop a wide range of research and professional skills. Informed by an integrated approach to performance enhancement, graduate students will have the opportunity to concurrently gain research and supervised applied experiences.

Graduate students will have the opportunity to:

  1. deliver, with supervision, consulting services to athletes, teams, coaches, and other performers
  2. observe experienced consultants deliver consulting services
  3. prepare psychological profiles
  4. conduct research
  5. write educational newsletters for athletes, teams, coaches, and other performers
  6. receive funded opportunities to participate in professional development & continuing education workshops, seminars, &/or conferences
  7. receive funded opportunities to attend conferences for the presentation of research findings
  8. participate in regular lab meetings, discussions, and internal continuing education courses.

Undergraduate Student Experience

As laboratory interns, undergraduate students will have the opportunity to become familiar with the details of working in both the research and applied worlds of sport psychology.

Undergraduate students will have the opportunity to:

  1. participate in the writing of educational newsletters for athletes, teams, coaches, and other performers
  2. score psychological profiles
  3. participate in research projects
  4. participate in regular lab meetings, discussions, and internal continuing education courses.
