Academic Advising

Academic advisor, Sue Gruzis, helps student pick her coursework

Undergraduate advising is available to all students because your academic success is as important to us as it is to you. To help ensure your success, CHS has internationally recognized academic advisors who understand the challenges of balancing academics, work, family, and the social aspects of college life. They can connect you with various student organizations that lead to leadership and networking opportunities. Advisors are a great resource for inside information on scholarships, tutoring resources, course planning, and graduation timelines. They know the ropes, so use their expertise and advice.

How it works.

You are assigned an academic advisor upon admission to UWM. Meeting with your advisor at least once per semester is recommended. Registration for fall semester classes is in April, so see your advisor in March. For spring semester classes, see your advisor in October or early November. Appointments are easy to schedule by calling the College of Health Sciences Student Services Office at 414.229.2758.

New Freshmen

The New Freshmen Orientation Program has been created to help freshmen learn and understand the registration process and also to register for their first semester at UWM! Click here for more information.
