Ingrid Jordt

Bio: Ingrid Jordt is Associate Professor of Anthropology at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She is the author of Burma's Mass Meditation Movement: Buddhism and the Cultural Construction of Power (2007) and numerous articles concerning religion and the politics of state legitimacy in Mainland Southeast Asia, where she has been conducting research since 1988. She has worked as a consultant to the US State Department and is frequently featured in the media on reportage pertaining to Burma.
