The Center for International Education (CIE) supports interdisciplinary research through conferences, colloquia, fellowships, and publications.
From its inception, CIE has endeavored to bring together experts from diverse fields to address significant contemporary issues. In annual conferences, scholars, artists, and activists discuss topics such as Sustaining Cities, ReThinking Global Security, World Making, and Governance in Global Cyberspace. Through the New Directions in International Studies Book Series, CIE's singular research agenda reaches the global academic community. The Global Studies Fellows program supports UWM faculty members' cutting edge research on globalization issues. CIE also co-edits global-e, an online Global Studies journal, in collaboration with several major research universities.
Through its dynamic array of research programming and support for faculty, CIE stands as a national leader in the emerging field of global studies.
