Great Decisions - Egypt: Preserving Stability, Promoting Reform

The promotion of democracy has been a central component of US policy in the Middle East. The preservation of friendly regimes is also a perennial strategic goal. Nowhere is this apparent contradiction more evident than in US relations with Egypt. Egyptian political scientist, Amal Hamada, explores the tensions between stability and reform.
