Fall Programming - United Nations Day

The United Nations has played a critical role in the rapid growth of  international justice over the last two decades.  Ambassador Scheffer will describe how that happened as international criminal tribunals arose and the Security council increasingly engaged in matters of justice and the responsibility to protect.  While the United Nations attracts much criticism for its human rights performance and the high price tag for judicial initiatives, justice is being rendered and the United States has had an important role to play in the process.
