Fall Programming - Trafficked in War: Children in Armed Conflict, An Evening Lecture with Grace Akallo

Grace Akallo
Founder and Executive Director, United Africans for Women and Children Rights (UAWCR)

Grace Akallo is a spokesperson for children affected by conflict, and international advocate for the rights of women and children. She is a former child soldier who was
abducted and victimized by the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA), a brutal rebel group established in Uganda. Following her escape, Akallo actively pursued her education, obtaining a Master's degree in International Development and Social Change from Clark University. She is the Founder and Executive Director of United Africans for Women and Children Rights (UAWCR), an advocacy organization working on behalf of vulnerable women and children.

Akallo is also the co-author of Girl Soldier: A Story of Hope for Northern Uganda's Children.
