GEORGE F. KENNAN FORUM ON INTERNATIONAL ISSUES PILOT PROJECT AWARDS
?BALANCING FREEDOM AND SECURITY IN A POST-9/11 WORLD?
AWARD ELIGIBILITY:
Representatives from institutions of secondary and higher education as well as community organizations are eligible to apply for the George F. Kennan Forum on International Issues Pilot Project Awards.
SCOPE OF AWARD:
The Institute of World Affairs George F. Kennan Forum entitled Balancing Freedom and Security in a Post-9/11 World will take place at the Pabst Theater in Milwaukee, WI on Thursday, April 20, 2006, 4:00 ? 6:00 p.m. Amy Goodman, Host and Executive Producer of Democracy Now! and Ruth Wedgwood, member of the Defense Policy Board and Professor of International Law and Diplomacy at SAIS at Johns Hopkins University will serve as panelists and Ben Merens of Wisconsin Public Radio will moderate. Flexible delivery options and support materials for a discussion based classroom or group on the topic are components of the pilot project award.
Recipients will receive:
- Secure access to the live internet feed from which participating organizations may project on a large screen for group viewing or offer to students/learners to view synchronously on their own computers.
- Asynchronous viewing from the internet archive
- Discussion group facilitator support materials
- Issue Brief focusing on ?Balancing Freedom and Security in a Post-9/11 World? to be used as instructor reference and/or for reproduction for participant use.
TECHNOLOGICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Internet access; Internet Explorer browser; Windows Media Player or RealPlayer.

Pilot project recipients are required to give feedback on the program by May via survey.
