Dr. Kathy Fitzpatrick is a nationally recognized expert in public relations. She is very engaged in the academic as well as professional areas.
Dr. Fitzpatrick received her bachelor?s degree in public relations and master's degree in journalism from West Virginia University. She also received a juris doctor degree from Southern Methodist University School of Law (SMU).
Dr. Fitzpatrick was head of the public relations department for 12 years at SMU. She also taught international public relations at SMU?s London-based International Communications program. Dr. Fitzpatrick went to the University of Florida where she was an associate professor of public relations and directed the graduate program in public relations. Currently she is an associate professor of communication and director of the master?s degree program in public relations and advertising at DePaul University in Chicago. She is also an attorney and partner in a Chicago-based communication training and consulting firm.
As co-author of three books and author of numerous articles her works have been published in many respected journals. Currently she is working on her newest book Diplomatic Chaos: The U.S. Experience in Public Diplomacy?
