Global Studies Summer Institute: Bringing the World into the Classroom
The Global Studies Summer Institute (GSSI) is a three-day program for K-12 educators focused on contemporary global issues and their practical applications for the classroom. GSSI features informative presentations by global educators, university experts, and international affairs practitioners, and provides a forum for exchanging ideas and experiences integrating global education across the curriculum.
Each Institute offers area educators the opportunity to:
- Attend lectures and videoconferences with prominent experts on global issues
- Explore local connections to global themes
- Learn from teachers who are integrating global education in the classroom
- Receive an extensive collection of curricular and informational resources aligned with Wisconsin's Model Academic Standards
- Network with other educators interested in international issues
- Incorporate international awareness into professional development planning
