A Conference at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee
April 11-12, 2003

Primary Venue:
Hefter Conference Center

This conference seeks to strengthen the voices of academics and practitioners who are calling for security to be understood in the broadest sense. Our goal is to expand traditional political-military definitions of security to include explorations of terrorism, development, peacebuilding, environment, health, human rights, and religion, as well as the social, economic, cultural, and psychic dimensions of security in a period of rapid globalization.

Conference Organizers:

Patrice Petro, Senior Director of CIE

Kris Ruggiero, Associate Director of CIE and Director of CLACS

Robert J. Beck, Director of Academic Technology at CIE and Adjunct Associate Professor of Political Science

Robert Ricigliano, Director of Peace Studies

Terence Miller, Director of Overseas Programs and Partnerships at CIE

The conference is free and open to the public.
