AWARD ELIGIBILITY:
Full-time UWM tenure-track faculty are eligible to apply for Center for International Education (CIE) international travel awards. A maximum of $500 will be provided for each award.Faculty who have received CIE faculty travel awards within the preceding fiscal year are not eligible for an award in the current fiscal year.
SCOPE OF AWARD:
Awards will be given partially to defray University-approved travel expenses (transportation, room, board, and conference fees). To be eligible for support, travel must comply with University travel policies.Awards will be limited to support for:
- research leading to results expected to be disseminated in scholarly papers, books, or other means;
- formal participation, performance, or exhibition outside the U.S. Participation is defined as presenting the results of research at an international professional meeting, not merely attending a conference. Appropriate documentation must be submitted;
- curriculum development;
- to plan, strengthen, or to develop student exchange or study abroad programs.
APPLICATION FOR AWARD:
Award requests must be accompanied by one of the following:- an appropriate invitation and an abstract of the applicant's research;
- a concise description of the new course the applicant proposes to develop;
- a description outlining your student exchange or study abroad ideas.

AWARD-RELATED COMMUNICATIONS WITH THE CIE:
By June 1st of the fiscal year in which the award is made, the award recipient must have either:- submitted a Travel Expense Report to the CIE; or
- made arrangements with CIE to have the grant funds transferred to the recipient's home department.
AWARD APPLICATION SUBMISSION DEADLINES:
Requests can be submitted at any time. The commitee will review applications on a monthly basis until all funds are expended.Kindy submit all materials to:
