Processing the I-9
The 1986 Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA) mandates employers to verify identity and employment eligibility of all employees through the I-9.

When must I have employees complete the I-9?
Employees must complete the I-9 within 3 days of beginning employment at UWM.
How long do I keep I-9s?
The I-9 must be kept for three years or one year after the date of termination, whichever is longer.
