Participate in a Semester of Service!

What is a Semester of Service?

An opportunity for students to volunteer at local non-profit organizations and get recognized for their time and efforts. This is a fun way to dedicate yourself to service and a great way to boost your resume.

How to Participate:

  1. Make your pledge by choosing one of the Service Length Options below.
  2. Sign up for the Student Service Record (SSR) Program. This requires a quick 15-minute orientation (scheduled at your convenience). You will be given access to track your volunteer hours on an online database. Email leader1@uwm.edu to sign up for the SSR Program.
  3. After you have signed up for the Student Service Record Program and made your pledge, you are ready to start your Semester of Service! It will be up to you to track your hours online.
  4. The challenge is to then complete your pledged amount of service hours by the end of Spring semester. (Must have all hours entered by Friday, May 9, 2014.)
  5. After you have reached your service pledge, keep volunteering! You can continue to track your hours with the online database and work towards the university-recognized Student Service Record Certificate, which you will receive after at least 75 hours of service completed throughout your college career.
  6. Questions? Feel free to stop by the CBL office in Union G28 or email Nicky.
