Honors in the Major

Honors in the major is different from all-university honors and signifies that a student has attained a significant level of achievement in their academic program. General eligibility requirements for honors in the major are:

Grade point average of 3.00 or higher for all courses required in the major
Grade point average of 3.50 or higher for all upper-level courses required in the major
Registration for and successful completion of an honors in the major project or independent study course

Eligibility requirements vary for each department. Please contact your advisor for further information.
