Honors in the Major
Honors in the major is different from all-university honors and signifies that a student has attained a significant level of achievement in their academic program. General eligibility requirements for honors in the major are:

• Grade point average of 3.00 or higher for all courses required in the major
  
• Grade point average of 3.50 or higher for all upper-level courses required in the major
  
• Registration for and successful completion of an honors in the major project or independent study course
