UWM is located in a beautiful residential neighborhood on Milwaukee's Upper East Side. Statistics show that UWM is a safe campus in a safe neighborhood. But the university continues to work hard to make the campus and surrounding area safe for students, faculty and staff.
University Police
The University Police Department provides essential law enforcement, emergency and protective services to university students, staff, faculty and visitors.
B.O.S.S.
Be On the Safe Side provides van transportation to UWM students as a core component of the University's commitment to campus safety. B.O.S.S. functions to promote a safe environment for members of the UWM community to live, work and study.

The Office of Neighborhood Housing has information about prudent behavior — as well as how to be a good neighbor.

The Department of University Safety and Assurances is responsible for campus safety in its broadest sense, from fire protection to potential environmental hazards. The department offers safety training and is reponsible for emergency preparedness on campus.
