The mission of the Center for Volunteerism & Student Leadership (CVSL) is to foster an ethic of service and leadership within the UW-Milwaukee campus community by promoting and supporting volunteerism that addresses human and social needs.

To accomplish this CVSL will:

• Empower students by placing them in service settings that promote personal and professional growth.

• Link students, faculty, staff and alumni to existing and new service opportunities.

• Facilitate leadership development by supporting the work of student organizations in the community.

• Develop collaborative partnerships with campus programs that support civic and community engagement.

• Individuals can come to the Center, which is located in the UWM Union in room G28 and search a database of volunteer opportunities at non-profit agencies in the area.
  

• The Center will also help members of the campus community choose opportunities based on their interests, time availability, skills and other factors that are important to them.
  

• If you are a member of an organization who would like to participate in a one-time activity for your group, the Center can help you identify an event or organization that you can work with.
