Be a Mentor Through the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program, Volunteering Only 2 Hours Each Week

A 'College Big' hangs out with his 'Little'The Center for Volunteerism & Student Leadership provides a group Big Brothers Big Sisters activity each day of the week for students interested in mentoring. The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters is to put hope in a child's future by putting a friend in a child's life. The site-based mentoring program is an opportunity for volunteers to be matched with a child at a local elementary school. Activities are defined by the child and the site coordinator, and might include tutoring and social/recreational activities. Since the program is located at a school, volunteers and their "littles" may have access to computer labs, gyms, libraries, and cafeterias.

THE "BIGS" PROGRAM IS FULL FOR THE FALL 2009 SEMESTER, HOWEVER WE HAVE A SIMILAR PROGRAM WITH TRANSPORTATION VOLUNTEERING WITH THE UNITED COMMUNITY CENTER - STOP INTO THE CVSL OFFICE FOR MORE INFORMATION!
