UWM Women's Studies
We are happy to announce that we are now Womens' Studies Program. Our new website is now being developed and will be available during the 2012 Spring Semester. The Women's Studies Program facilitates research and course development about women and gender-related issues, coordinates the interdisciplinary Women's Studies undergraduate and graduate instructional program, and works with local, state, and national groups on issues of importance to women. The Program's instructional program offers an undergraduate Women's Studies major and minor, a Masters in Women's Studies, and a Graduate Certificate through the Graduate School. Currently Women's Studies offers over 100 core and cross-listed courses drawn from over thirty departments on campus, taught by over 90 affiliated faculty and staff members. Approximately 4,000 students enroll in Women's Studies courses each year. The Program encourages and facilitates research for and by women, and provides support services for faculty, including grant proposal development, preparation and administration. To highlight faculty and student research and foster collaboration, the Program also sponsors seminars, lectures, workshops, and sponsors an annual student contest, where cash awards are made for meritorious research and projects.
