Presenter: Matt Russell

This workshop is part of the UWM Faculty Development Program for preparing faculty for online and blended course instruction.

The online environment lends itself to frequent, low-stakes student assessment, with rapid feedback that helps students demonstrate their mastery of course content. In addition, the online environment offers many opportunities to document not only what students are learning, but how they are learning.

This 2-hour workshop addresses both technical and pedagogical aspects of the assessment of online work. It focuses on the use of classroom assessment techniques (CATs), the D2L Rubric and Survey tools, and other assessment tools embedded in D2L, as well as best practices for managing instructor workload while providing rich feedback for students.

A basic working knowledge of D2L is assumed.
