Program Costs

Complete program costs are listed below by term. Please note that some costs are estimates. Costs may change without notice.

Cancellation or Withdrawal

  • Notification of cancellation or withdrawal must be submitted in writing to the ESL Programs Office.
  • There are charges for early withdrawal from the program: see Assessment for Drop/Withdrawal on the UWM website for dates and amounts.
  • The application fee is not refundable.
  • Return of I-20: A student who receives an I-20 and subsequently cancels enrollment is required to return the original I-20 to the ESL Program Office before a refund can be issued.

New students: Add one-time non-refundable application fee: $ 125
Payment due date: Payment of tuition and fees are due on the first day of class. There is a one-week grace period.
Late fee charges:

Late placement testing fee $ 40
Assessed for any late or rescheduled placement test.
Late payment fee $ 25
Assessed monthly for any late payment made one week after due date.
UWM also assess a charge of 1% per month for all late payments.
Late registration fee $ 75
For registrations received after the deadline.
Continuing students must re-register for each new term (semester or summer session).
