Oral Skills Non-credit Course for International Teaching Assistants
The non-credit course, Oral Skills for International Teaching Assistants, offers extensive practice in English pronunciation and
presentation skills, and the course includes familiarization with academic culture and norms.
The class meets weekly for one two-hour session and each participant also meets weekly one-on-one
with the instructor for individual practice and feedback on speaking skills. Each student will take
the UW-Milwaukee Teaching Assistant Assessment (MITAA) at the end of the course and be given a
final MITAA score.
Class is reserved for graduate students with teaching assistantship appointments. However, students who do not have a teaching assistantship appointment may receive permission to register on a space available basis. All students must take the MITAA prior to registration. For any questions about the class, please contact the ESL Programs Office Director or the ITA Coordinator, Mark Sondrol. ESL Programs Office: ESL ITA Coordinator: Mark Sondrol |
