How do I get Hyperion?

If you need to use either the Hyperion Client Software, or the Query Library (IRWC Internet Explorer plugin), please follow these steps:

  1. Request authorization to access the data warehouse(s) for WISDM / HRS.
    To request authorization for WISDM, contact David Rice (riced@uwm.edu).
    To request authorization for HRS, contact Carla Sagert (csagert@uwm.edu).
  2. Visit the Authorization Application page located at https://www4.uwm.edu/authapp/index.cfm and request the use of either the Hyperion Client Software or the Query Library.
  3. After your application is processed, you will receive an email containing download instructions. Forward this email to faa-help@uwm.edu and we will schedule a time to install the software on your computer.

What should I do if I am having problems with PantherLink and/or PantherFile?

You can check the status of systems by UITS by checking their status page. If you are experiencing a problem that is not listed and being worked on, call the Univeristy Help Desk at x4040.

If you are having problems related to your ePanther (i.e. password issues), you can visit the ePanther Utilities page for help.

How do I request help?

If you wish to submit a Help Request, please visit our Help Request Form. If you are having issues using the web form, or wish to speak with a member of the Helpdesk staff, you can call the FAA Systems Helpdesk at 229-4582, or ext 4582 while on campus, during the normal business hours. You can also contact the Helpdesk by emailing faa-help@uwm.edu.

If you have a problem that requires immediate help, you can call the work cell numbers located on the About Us page. Please note that you MUST leave a message if it goes to voicemail, or we will not know that you need help.

How do I reset my BFS password?

After logging into your computer follow the steps below to change your BFS-AD password.

  1. Press the Control (Ctrl), Alternate (Alt), and Delete (Del) keys simultaneously, and press the Change Password... button on the Windows Security window.

  2. Type your current password in the Old Password box, and your new password into the New Password and the Confirm New Password boxes and click the OK button.

  3. If you see the following message, your new password did not meet the password requirements for our system. Click the OK button and try again.

  4. Once you successfully change your password, you will get the following confirmation window. Click the OK button to return to your Windows session.

How do I reset my UWM AD password?

You can access the "Change Password" function for your ePanther account on the ePanther Utilities page.

How do I request Admin access to my computer?

Administrative Privileges are only granted to people that show a genuine need for higher security rights, and show sufficient computer knowledge to ensure that the granted privileges will not result in the installation of malware, adware, and/or a computer virus (either intentional or unintentional).

Fill out the either the PC Admin Rights Agreement or the Laptop Agreement, depending on the computer you wish to have Admin access to. Hand in the form along with a note from your supervisor agreeing with the request, and a note stating why you need the elevated privileges.

Requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

How do I get a new computer?

First, please consult the PC Life Cycle policy page to determine when your next computer upgrade will take place. If you feel that your computer is in need of a hardware upgrade outside of the standard PC Life Cycle, fill out the Help Request Form (make sure to state your reasons for the out-of-cycle upgrade).

Requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Requests can be filled in a number of ways. Individual components may be upgraded / replaced, the computer may be upgraded to a spare computer that we have in stock, or a new computer may be purchased. Note that any new hardware purchases would need to be funded by your department.

How do I reserve a laptop and/or projector for short term use?

Conference rooms, laptops, teleconference equipment / line, and the LCD projector can all be reserved through PantherLink.

Please note that while the laptop numbers go up to 7 on PantherLink, we currently only have 4 laptops that are available for use.

Please also note that you must be given rights to the specific resources before you can add the rooms/resources to a meeting. If you cannot reserve the rooms/resources that you require, please fill out a Help Request to be given access to them.

What should I do if I get a Virus Notification?

Unfortunately, many virus alerts are actually fake alerts that would infect your computer if you click on any of the buttons on the alert window. For this reason, you should not click anything after receiving a virus alert, and immediately call the Help Desk at x4582.
