How do we get to campus?
Directions to campus, the UWM Student Union and Engelmann Field are available here (just click on a campus building to get custom directions to that location).
Where and when do we check-in?
Saturday check-in will take place from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. in the Concourse (ground level) of the UWM Student Union, 2200 E Kenwood Blvd. All registrants will receive a Family Weekend Badge and a welcome bag. if you are a paid registrant, you will also receive tickets for the meals and soccer matches, as well as your special gift.
Where can we park?
Parking is available in the in the UWM Student Union Parking Garage or the UWM Pavilion Parking Garage. The UWM Union garage requires you to pay when exiting, while the Pavilion garage has pay stations. There is also limited parking available at Engelmann Field.
We discourage families from parking on the neighborhood streets surrounding the campus.
We're planning to arrive on Friday--is there anything happening that day?
While Family Weekend officially takes place Saturday and Sunday, there are many events and activities happening Friday both on and off campus. A list of those events will be posted on the Family Weekend website as they become available.
Are we supposed to attend all the events?
No. Family Weekend is designed to appeal to a variety of interests, so we offer many different options. Even if you're just visiting your student, we hope you'll at least sign up for the free registration option. The paid registration option is also extremely affordable and includes meals and a special gift.
Are all families welcome?
Yes!! Although advertising for Family Weekend is generally geared towards first-year students, families of all UWM students are invited to attend.
We have special needs. Who should we contact?
The registration form includes requests for dietary accommodations and special needs. Requests for accommodations must be received by the registration deadline.
