(a CB&I Company) will present an interactive talk titled, “Remediation Revisited: A Historical and Futuristic Perspective”. The discussion will address why some of us, as environmental consultants, retained by responsible parties, implement the work we do. It will focus on the evolution of federal and state investigation and clean up regulations as evidenced by projects that Jim has been involved in over the years. Jim plans to share his ideas of what skills are necessary for entry-level hydrogeologists and engineers to be successful in today’s consulting industry - of keen interest to those who may be exploring employment in the environmental business in the near future. James F. Drought, P.H., is a Vice President and Principal Hydrogeologist with Shaw Environmental, Inc. (Shaw, a CBI Company, in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin office. Mr. Drought has over 25 years of professional consulting experience in Investigation and Remediation Services, Brownfield Redevelopment, and Litigation Support. Mr. Drought received a Master of Science Degree in Geosciences from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Geography and Biology from Carroll College in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Mr. Drought also serves as an Associate Faculty Member in the Environmental Engineering Department at the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. - - - - - - - - - - - - Event/Venue Details Wednesday September 17, 430 -630 pm at the School of Freshwater Sciences at 600 East Greenfield Avenue in Milwaukee, 53204 (Greenfield and “the Lake”).
