Water is essential for life.
When you make a financial gift to UWM's School of Freshwater Sciences (SFS), you are supporting research, education, and outreach that is leading the way to sustainable use of freshwater resources—here and around the world, now and in the future.
Designating your gift
You may designate your gift to SFS for general use or for a specific purpose. Specific purposes you might consider include:
- Ship - supports construction of a new research ship to expand and enhance our studies of the Great Lakes
- Research - supports study of topics ranging from pollution and policy to ecosystems and environmental health to aquaculture and aquatic technology
- Scholarship - supports education of tomorrow's freshwater experts
- Outreach - supports efforts to transfer scientific information to the community

You can give to SFS in several ways:
Donate online now
Simply go to UWM's Give Online page and click the Make a Gift button to get to the UWM Foundation donation form. Then complete and submit the form, selecting "Freshwater Sciences" in the Gift Designation box. If you would like to designate your SFS gift for a specific purpose (such as those listed above), note this in the Additional Designation Instructions box. Or, leave this box blank to designate your gift for general use.
Make a planned gift
Making a planned gift enables you to realize your long-term charitable goals and make a significant impact on the future of SFS. A bequest in your will, annuities, trusts, and investment income contributions are some common means of planned giving.
