After You Are Admitted

After you are admitted to UWM, you will be invited to participate in a number of events to continue your undergraduate career.

Campus OrientationUWM offers transfer and adult students an orientation program called "The Next Step" each fall and spring. At "The Next Step," you can prepare for the upcoming semester when you pick up a UPASS (bus pass), pay for tuition, buy textbooks, change your schedule, complete financial aid loan counseling, and have your student ID photo taken. In addition, you can take a campus tour and meet with an academic advisor. If you have been admitted to UWM as a transfer or as an adult student, you will automatically receive an invitation to "The Next Step."

Contacting your AdvisorPlease contact the UWM school/college to which you were admitted to schedule an advising appointment after you have received a credit evaluation.

You are encouraged to meet with an advisor before selecting classes. Advisors help you with course selection, registration, degree requirements, and other questions you may have. Remember, you cannot register for classes until you are admitted.
