Don't have time to exercise? Looking for an incentive to be active? Participate in our 10,000 Steps Program and increase your activity, one step at a time.
Welcome to UWM's annual 10,000 Steps Program! This program was designed to get the UWM community to incorporate more physical activity into their busy daily lives by setting a goal of reaching 10,000 steps per day. Register for this program, track your daily activity and win great prizes.Step 1: Register
Registration is open online March 25-31.
Click Register link to register.Step 2: Pick up your pedometerFirst 100 students to register receive a free pedometer!
*Pick up your pedometer Monday, March 25-Tuesday, April 2in the Klotsche Center Fitness Center (2nd Floor Weight Room) . Be sure to bring your Student ID!
Step 3: Log your activity online daily!
Wear your pedometer on your waist so it can track your steps throughout the day. At the end of the day, look at the number of steps you got and log that number.
When you register, you will receive the link to access your individual online activity log. Be sure to log your activity daily!
You will have the option to enter steps or minutes. Read your pedometer at the end of each day and enter your total steps for the activity accumulated while wearing your pedometer. Enter minutes for any moderate to vigorous intensity activities you completed without wearing your pedometer, i.e. swimming or biking. Be sure to only enter steps OR minutes for a particular activity. DO NOT LOG BOTH STEPS AND MINUTES FOR THE SAME ACTIVITY. For example: If you walk 30 minutes and accumulate 4,000 steps doing that, do not enter both 4,000 steps AND 30 minutes.
