School of Education
The School of Education, with approximately 2,000 students, is dedicated to providing the skills necessary to teach in an urban environment. Students in our programs often split their time between school and a job in order to help pay for the cost of their education. This school and work arrangement becomes increasingly difficult when student teaching.
Scholarships for undergraduates and fellowships for graduate students provide funding for students to go to school full time. Full time students get through the program and out into their careers more quickly.
Pre-College Programs (recruitment and academic assistance for 9–12 year olds) get students interested in higher education and teaching as a profession.
