Intercollegiate Athletics

The primary objective of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is to provide the best possible educational and athletic experience for its student-athletes. The health and safety of all student-athletes will be protected by the institution by providing a healthy and safe environment as per the NCAA Constitution.  The Athletics Department seeks to maintain a sports program of high quality and is committed to seeking state and national stature in the excellence of its programs.

The Panther Fund serves as the fund raising arm of UWM Athletics. Donations to the Panther Fund provide crucial support to our 15 teams and their coaches and student-athletes in numerous ways.  Donors can make a contribution to the Panther Fund in a variety of ways and at various levels.

One of the top priorities of the Panther Fund is to increase dollars available for scholarships.  Currently, we have approximately 250, out of about 350 student-athletes, who receive scholarship assistance at some level, making the total cost for scholarships a little less than $2 million.  The Athletic Department’s goal is to provide financial aid for all student-athletes and to ensure each individual has the opportunity to achieve success on the athletic field, in the classroom and in their future lives with a college degree.

Giving Levels for the Panther Fund:

  • $2,500 or more – Champion’s Circle
  • $1,000 to $2,499 – Director’s Circle
  • $500 to $999 – Coach’s Circle
  • $250 to $499 – Panther Partner
