Professional Interests
Clinical Associate Professor Katie Mangan teaches in the areas of advanced practice with children and families and trauma. She oversees students in the clinical practicum. Katie has a bachelor's degree in Zoology (Genetics) and an MSW from UWM, and is currently completing on her Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology.
She attended The Family Therapy Training Institute for two years of post-graduate work with individuals, couples, and families. Katie is licensed as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). Katie is also active in the community working to develop practice models in urban settings.
She is a clinical member of AAMFT and a member of NASW. Katie's interests are in the areas of systems theory, adolescent development within the family system, and death in the family over the lifespan.
