When and How to Apply to the Master of Science in Criminal Justice Program

 

Send to the UWM Graduate School:

To get started, potential students must submit the following to the UWM Graduate School:

• a graduate application
• official transcripts
• GRE scores or MAT scores
• application fee

Send to the Criminal Justice Program:

Potential students should submit the following to the Criminal Justice Program:

• three letters of recommendation

Deadlines are as follows:

(Applicants are strongly advised to submit their material prior to these deadlines.)

• July 1, for admission to the fall semester
• November 1, for admission to the spring semester
• April 1, for admission to the summer semester.

If you want to apply for an assistantship please fill out and complete the Graduate Assistantship Application form and send it to the Department of Criminal Justice. Teaching Assistantships are awarded for the academic year in the Fall. If you apply for Spring Admission, you may put in an application for the following Fall. If you wish to apply your application is due March 1 (or the next Monday if 3/1 falls on a weekend) for the following Fall semester.

Graduation Requirements

• Minimum of 33 graduate credits
• A grade of B or better in the 3 required proseminars, Crm Jst 743, 756 and 773
• Minimum GPA of 3.0
