W. Tyson Hausdoerffer

W. Tyson Hausdoerffer, Visiting Assistant Professor of Literature

W. Tyson Hausdoerffer received his B.A. in English from Western State College of Colorado, his M.A. in Classics from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and his Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from the University of California at Berkeley. His research and teaching interests include Greek, Latin, English, French, and Spanish literatures, literary and cultural theory, and film studies. He is currently working on a book entitled Fantasies of Return in Greek Literature and is also pursuing several projects focused on the reception of classical literature in contemporary global contexts, including Latin American, African, Irish, and Caribbean cultures. Before coming to the Honors College, he taught comparative literature at the University of California, Berkeley, and classics at Eckerd College in Florida.
