S. Ani Mukherji earned his B.A. in Literature from Cornell University, his M.A. in History from UC-Berkeley, and his Ph.D. from Brown University in American Studies. His research examines the ways in which race, migration, and empire have impacted US and global histories, engaging larger debates on the nature of colonialism, nationalism, and international order in the twentieth century. Ani has previously taught courses in History, African American Studies, and Asian American Studies at Wesleyan University, UCLA, and Nazarbayev University (Kazakhstan).
