Who can help me?
Your resident assistant
(RA) probably will be the first member of the housing office staff you will meet. RAs are upperclass students who live in each house and serve as residents' first point of information and assistance. Students in Kenilworth Square can contact their community advisor (CA).
I need help immediately! What do I do?
If it's life-threatening or some other kind of emergency, dial 9-911 or 414-229-4627. If not, contact the Sandburg Main Desk at 414-229-6123, where someone is available to help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In Kenilworth, contact the Services Desk at 414-229-0512
My neighbors are being loud! What do I do?
Residents are first encouraged to approach each other whenever someone's behavior is affecting the larger community. However, residents can contact the Main Desk at 414-229-6123 and either the Student Security Staff or the RA Staff will respond to the situation accordingly.
My roommate is driving me crazy! What do I do?
Residents are encouraged to first discuss problems with their roommates or suitemates. If that option does not work, residents are encouraged to speak with their RA, who will likely attempt to mediate the situation. If neither of those options has resolved the issue, residents should see the Room Assignments Coordinator in the main housing offices.
How do I get involved?
By attending activities that are always happening within the residence halls, residents can learn new things, meet people, and generally have a more well-rounded college experience. Within the residence halls, there are two main leadership organizations. Student Housing Administrative Council (SHAC) serves as the residents' voice to the administrators of University Housing, as well as providing social programs and events. The National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) is the recognition, service, and leadership organization within the residence halls.
I'm still having problem. Who else can help?
The Residential Program Manager staff are the live-in professional staff. They are the direct supervisors of the RA, Security, Media Services, and Green Room student staff. These professionals play many roles in the halls ? emergency responders, consultants, resource agents, general advisers and educators - to help foster effective relationships among hall residents. They help develop student leaders, provide specific information about the university and its services, stimulate creative thinking and help with the implementation of student-initiated ideas, plans, and programs. The RPM staff can be reached at 414-229-5712.
