Purin Move In Information
Please follow these guidelines to make move-in as easy as possible.
Prior to arriving at Purin Hall, go to Sandburg (3400 N. Maryland Ave.) and park in the circle drive. The student should then proceed to the Sandburg Service Desk (located in the lobby on the first floor) to receive room keys and get pictures taken for security purposes. After checking in, proceed to Purin Hall. Street parking is available for unloading.
After unloading, please find street parking or metered parking in the Pavilion if you wish to keep your vehicle on campus. This will allow more space for other residents to move in. If you purchased a Purin parking permit you will be able to park in the Purin Hall garage.
Room Furnishings & Dimensions
Each student is provided with a bed frame, mattress (extra long), mattress pad, desk, chair, dresser, bookshelf, and wastebasket. Each suite has a semi-private bathroom, and residents are expected to maintain clean and sanitary conditions. All rooms have window blinds and carpet. All furniture must remain in the resident’s room. A microwave is provided in the kitchen of each suite. Room dimensions and more info about Purin Hall are available online. Depending on your suite, dimensions may vary slightly.
Security & Guest Policies
Entrances to Purin are locked 24 hours a day, and residents are expected to escort their guests as they enter and exit the building. Residents are responsible for their guests’ conduct. It is the resident’s responsibility to inform his/her guests of University Housing policies. Purin residents may enter Sandburg, Cambridge Commons and RiverView with their student ID until midnight.
A very limited number of parking spaces are available in the Purin garage. If you would like to apply for a parking spot, complete the Parking Request form. Permits are $500 per semester.
