RiverView Move In Information

 

Students will be able to move into RiverView August 28-30. Please follow these guidelines to make move-in as easy as possible.

Driving Directions

From I-43, take the Locust Street exit and head east. Turn right on Humboldt Blvd . Follow Humboldt Blvd approximately 1 mile. Turn left at North Avenue. RiverView Residence Hall is located on the left just before the bridge..

 

Traffic

When you arrive at RiverView, turn right into the driveway before the building to enter the parking garage. Once in the garage, take the elevator to the third floor to get your key and move in materials. After you’ve checked in, you can borrow a cart and unload your belongings. Please note that you may bring a maximum of two vehicles during your move in appointment, and you will have two hours to unload your belongings.

 

After Unloading

Once you have unloaded your vehicle, you will need to move it to an alternate parking location. Public parking is available on Commerce Street in front of RiverView, and across North Avenue. Your move in parking pass will be valid for parking in the Pick N Save lot for 24 hours after your move in appointment. This is a temporary parking option only!

Shuttle Service

The University Housing Shuttle will be operating throughout move in week. You’ll have easy access to the Kenwood campus to purchase books, find your classes, and visit other residence halls.

 

Room Furnishings & Dimensions

Each student is provided with a bed frame (bunkable), mattress (extra long), mattress pad, pillow, desk, chair, dresser, bookshelf, and wastebasket. Each suite has a semi-private bathroom, and residents are expected to maintain clean and sanitary conditions. All rooms have window blinds and carpet. All furniture must remain in the resident’s room. A microwave is provided in the shared kitchen on each floor. Room dimensions are available online. Lofts

If you wish to loft your bed, you must rent a loft from University Housing; homemade lofts are not allowed. The cost for a loft rental is $100/ year. If you are interested in renting a loft, please fill out a Loft Rental Agreement as part of the process for scheduling your move-in appointment. If you wish to request a loft, you may do so at myHousing.

In order to have a loft delivered to your room prior to moving in, you must apply for a loft before August 1. Cancellations will be accepted August 27-September 2. No refunds will be given after September 2 for any reason. If you choose to wait to rent a loft, you will be able to request one via work order after the first week of classes.

 


Security & Guest Policies

Security monitors are posted in the RiverView lobby to swipe IDs of everyone entering the building. RiverView residents may swipe into Sandburg and Cambridge Commons (and vice versa) until midnight. Residents may register guests, but all guests must have a photo ID. This includes family members and anyone age 16 or over. Guests will not be admitted entrance without proper identification. If you wish to pre-register your guests to ensure quick and easy entrance upon arrival to RiverView, you can do so online. Residents are responsible for their guests’ conduct. It is the resident’s responsibility to inform his/her guests of University Housing policies.


Parking

A limited number of parking spaces are available in the garage at RiverView. If you would like to apply for a parking spot, download the RiverView Parking Request form. Complete the form and return it to University Housing. Permits are $500 per semester.
