From the moment you pick up a room key until you return it, you are responsible for the room and its contents, as well as any contract charges. You must keep the room key in your possession during the contract period and may not lend the key to anyone for any reason. Keys may not be altered or duplicated.
If a resident is locked out, they may call the Service Desk to be let into their room. If you have lost your key, the lock will changed (and the cost of the lock change billed to your University Housing Account.) If your key is in your room, you will not be billed. However, multiple key-ins can result in administrative fees being applied to your Housing Account for the service.
All room and suite doors are equipped with deadbolts. University Housing recommends that all doors be locked at all times to ensure the security of your belonging.
