This category includes all active state and University employees participating in the Wisconsin Retirement System. Typically, faculty, academic staff, limited staff and classified staff who are in 50 - 100% positions qualify.

Graduate Assistants including Research, Project/Program and Teaching Assistants holding a combined appointment of at least 33% with an expected duration of at least one semester (academic basis) or six months (annual basis) duration. Fellows, Scholars, Trainees or Advanced Opportunity Fellows must be receiving a monthly stipend payment at or above the one-third time Research Assistant level.

Short-Term Academic Staff who are employed in positions not covered under the Wisconsin Retirement System and are holding a fixed-term terminal appointment of at least 28% (academic basis) or 21% (annual basis) with an expected duration of at least six months (one semester for academic basis appointments).
