Alumni College for Kids

Alumni College for Kids http://cfprod.imt.uwm.edu/org/alumni/ac/kids.cfm is a one day program in October for kids in grades one through eight, with an interest in sports, science or cheerleading. Classes and UWM sports and cheerleading/dance team clinics are free and geared to specific age groups. You must pre-register for the sessions and are welcome to enroll your children in a combination of the offerings, time permitting.

Center for Volunteerism & Student LeadershipThe mission of the Center for Volunteerism & Student Leadership (CVSL) is designed to foster an ethic of service and leadership within the UWM campus community by promoting and supporting volunteerism that addresses human and social needs, http://www3.uwm.edu/dept/cvsl/about.cfm. Stop by the Center, which is located in the UWM Union in room G28 and search a database of volunteer opportunities at non-profit agencies in the area.

College for Kids/College for TeensUWM College for Kids http://cfprod.imt.uwm.edu/sce/dci.cfm?id=5 is a program, sponsored by the UWM School of Continuing Education and aimed at gifted and talented children, 5-K through 12th grade. It attracts more than 3,000 students annually, and over the years, more than 30,000 students have participated in hands-on learning opportunities in math, science, fine arts and humanities. Classes are limited to 18 students and are taught by UWM faculty and other specially selected teachers. Classes are generally held on the UWM campus.

Summer classes meet Monday through Friday for one or two weeks. Summer programs run from mid-June to early August. Fall and spring classes are held on selected Saturdays.

The Neighborhood Housing Office (NHO) provides listings to help UWM faculty and staff find housing in the UWM neighborhood http://www4.uwm.edu/univ_rel/neighborhood_rel/housing.cfm. Listed are both rental units and houses for sale. The site will also post housing you may have for sale in the area.

Manfred Olson Planetarium The UWM Manfred Olson Planetarium http://www.uwm.edu/Dept/Planetarium/index.html offers programs for both the general public and for groups, and is wheelchair accessible.
