Classified Permanent Positions Classified positions include occupations that are also found throughout State agencies. Examples at UW-Milwaukee include: professional administrative, clerical, blue collar, trades, information processing, technical positions and administrative support. Most require a civil service examination to determine eligibility.
Classified Permanent Transfer Positions Current Wisconsin State Employees are eligible to transfer on a permissive or mandatory basis to UW-Milwaukee.
Classified Project Positions Project positions do not require a civil service test for a candidate to be considered. The

Limited Term Employment (LTE) Positions LTE positions are appointments of a non-permanent or project basis. They are temporary positions that may not lead to permanent status. These positions do not require a civil service test.
